                           *** EVENT SCHEDULE ***

ALL EVENTS ARE IN EDT   GMT=EDT+5   (for EDT type:  date)

Watch Yasser Sierawan and Roman Dzindzichashvili play chess at 5PM EDT on

Friday!

Two grandmasters--Yasser Seirawan and Roman Dzindzichashvili--face off

live on chess.net Friday at 5pm EDT. They'll play "arm-chair chess," meaning

that they'll each chat about their strategic thoughts as the game

progresses. They will not be able to read each other's comments, but the

audience will see what they both have to say! There's no better way to learn

the game of chess than to follow the thought process behind grandmaster-play

\   as

the game unfolds.

Last Friday, Yasser and Roman played their first round of public arm-chair

chess, with Roman taking the win. Will Yasser get his revenge this time?  Or

is Roman too good?  Join the party and follow what promises to be a great

series.

************************ NEW DISCONNECT POLICY IN PLACE ***********************

The days of lag disconnections and courtesy adjourned games are over at

chess.net.  If you get disconnected for any reason during a game, the game is

tentatively awarded to your opponent.  You do have the opportunity to match

\   your

opponent to resume and finish the game.  Opponents need to note that if *THEY*

refuse to resume an adjourned game, then a 'loss' will be awarded to them

instead.  All games will be automatically cleared from the server after 3 days

if not played out.

This new policy should drastically reduce the need for members to submit games

for adjudication.  For more details, please type /help discon_policy
