Hey, my name is Tim Seymour (although I suppose I am known better in atomic
circles as Tipau!). I was born on 30/05/87 (thats the 30th of May for those
who do their dates backwards!) in the outskirts of Southwest London and I
have lived in that area ever since.
My dad taught me how to play chess at an early age (4 I think) but I didnt
10. After a while I began to play more chess and in 2000 I joined the ICC so
I could play chess online.
I was taught the rules of atomic in 2002, during an OTB tournament, by a
friend from my chess club (who plays as tripleblack on the ICC) and I began
to play it on the ICC.
Atomic quickly became an obsession for me and using the ICC for normal chess
soon became a rarity!
By the summer of 2004 I was clearly one of the top 2 players there and I
decided to try out new sites to check out the atomic competition. I joined
the USCL for a free trial (which lasted 2 weeks) and I quickly became the #1
player there, despite some of the top players refusing to play me and not
being used to the different rules they used. Here is my USCL atomic finger:
Rating RD Win Loss Draw Total Best
Atomic 2336 129.9 136 46 11 193 2348 (06-Jul-2004)
Recently I decided to try out FICS solely for atomic, after playing as a
guest there a few times, and it has taken over as my main site. I am
currently the #1 player there also. Here is my current atomic finger from
there:
Rating RD Win Loss Draw Total Best
Atomic 2448 43.2 240 60 12 312 2448 (22-May-2005)
I do not play rated on the ICC much anymore, much preferring FICS, but
barring the 0 1 time control, which I never play, and possibly 1 0, which is
very close, I am now the strongest player there also. Therefore these may be
my final atomic rating statistics for the ICC:
Rating win loss draw total best
Atomic (w27) 2350i 5080 1518 213 6811 2443
I am always on the look out for strong atomic players to test myself against
and if anyone reading knows of any other sites where there are such players
feel free to either message me or send an e-mail and I will happily check
them out.
